I am in love with your art but unfortunately cannot afford the originals. Do you sell prints of your works?
Hi KC, Thanks but unfortunately I haven’t made any prints of my paintings for sale yet. I may do so for my next one man show. Any particular painting you have in mind? Best, Chin
Good morning!
I saw your work at Toddenham Mills where I also picked up a notice of the workshops you offer. It appears that the workshops are out of province. I was wondering if you offer workshops (weekend ideally) in Toronto? Thank you for any additional information.
Hi Karin, unfortunately I don’t offer any workshops in toronto at this time. I will save your email address and let you know when I do. Why not make a trip to St. Andrews? It is a beautiful seaside resort to spend a holiday and learn to paint. Thanks for your inquiry and have a great day. Feel free to email me.
Hi Chin, I will be in Toronto over the Easter weekend for 5 days (April 10 - 14th) I am staying with my niece, visiting family and seeing friends. I would like to see you and also your new work if you have some free time. It’s been 10 years since my last summer with the gang in NB. I am still painting every summer in San Miguel de Allende MX. I spend 10 weeks there. I am also still teaching at CEGEP and living in Montreal.
Hi Chin,
I hope that the workshops and Centre are a great success ! I am considering coming down that way. Have you room in your up coming advanced workshop ? I e-mailed you some jpg attachments of recent painting to chin@chinkoktan.com along with a request for some advise. Thank you.
Happy Painting. Kind regards, Bill
Hi Chin - I saw your work on a recent visit to the Rossmount Inn in St Andrews and spoke with the owners about your painting approach and classes.
I would be very interested in taking your course at the first possible opportunity….I am just beginning to learn how to paint and would love to be able to reproduce nature (particularly water) in the way that you do.
Do you plan workshops in 2010 and if so could I register for a beginner one?
Hi SAF: The 2010 Summer workshop is on July 12 - July 17. This workshop is for beginners or any artist who have not taken my instruction before. The basic instruction and critique takes place in my new studio on Queen St. St. Andrews N.B. with daily trip to paint on location. The fee for this 6 days workshop is $450.00. If interested, please book early as there is a maximum enrollment.
Thanks for your enquiry and I am happy to share my knowledge with you.

Hi Chin,
Just looking at your work on your site - you are Canada’s greatest living painter bar none!
Bill
Dear Chin, My maiden name was Beverley Feasby and I received two of your paintings from Dorothy Heal as a wedding gift in 1976. I just took them in to get them re-matted and framed and found a note on the back of the painting of Patrick Street! What a joy it was to find your writing! I came home and Googled you and found you. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other. I was encourged to see you are still painting and now living in New Brunswick. When did you move there? Please email me back. I hope you are well this winter. I live in Carmel, Indiana now. Regards
Dear Beverley, Surprised but very pleased to hear from friends of past. Now that you know my email address, please keep in touch. Dorothy Heal was not just a friend, I viewed her more like my caring aunt and she was a great supporter of my art. When my son jason was little, we used to go to her cottage for the weekends. I remembered doing the driving in her car which was so different to my old Volkswagon! Yes, I am still painting, more so than ever. If you’re in Toronto, drop in to see what I’m doing now. No, I am not living in New Brunswick. I just go there in the summer to paint and teach a workshop or two. I have been doing this since 1984. I did own a house/studio in St. Andrews but have since sold it two years ago. Yes, I am well and how are you? Reply to my email and we’ll talk. Take care for now, Chin
